1. Decide where the quotation should end
A request for Tianjin to Jebel Ali shipping can mean an ocean movement to the discharge port, or a wider shipment ending at a named UAE delivery location. Set that boundary before asking several providers for prices. If the buyer says only “Dubai”, confirm the actual discharge port first.
Use two clearly named options if delivery is undecided: Option A, Tianjin / Xingang to Jebel Ali port with destination tasks separately identified; Option B, the same movement plus a separately described final address and delivery scope. These are quotation structures, not offers or commitments by Tianjin Global Freight.
2. Collect the details that change a Jebel Ali quotation
| Detail | What to send | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery boundary | Jebel Ali port only, or the exact warehouse / JAFZA / other UAE address. | A port name does not specify local transport or unloading. |
| Responsible destination contact | Name the buyer’s or forwarder’s destination agent and who is checking release, clearance and delivery. | Local responsibilities and payable items must be reconciled. |
| Cargo and equipment | Commodity, packages, dimensions, gross weight with units, container type and quantity; mark unknowns. | Equipment suitability and the quoted basis depend on actual cargo. |
| Origin work | Factory address, factory loading or warehouse loading, and requested trucking, customs coordination or other work. | The China-side scope must match the way the cargo will be handed over. |
| Readiness and terms | Actual cargo-ready date or range, Incoterms with named place and desired shipment window. | A target departure is not proof that cargo will be available. |
For a port-only request, do not leave a delivery address that makes the intended scope ambiguous. For an overseas agent, specify whether you control the ocean booking or want an origin-to-port offer.
3. Compare the same shipment, not just the freight line
Ask each quotation to show the container basis, currency, charge units, validity, named inclusions and exclusions. Reconcile origin pickup/loading, origin handling and documents, ocean freight and stated surcharges, and destination release/delivery as separate areas. Confirm who pays each item. Do not treat an unlisted charge as included or zero.
Ask for the proposed carrier and routing, any transshipment, indicative timing and booking conditions for the actual ready date. This guide has no live rate, sailing or transit-time promise. If destination collection or empty return may be delayed, ask the responsible provider which time-related terms apply to that offer.
4. Send one brief that the buyer and agent can check
Copy this template and replace the brackets with your actual details. It describes a request, not a completed shipment or customer case.
Subject: Tianjin / Xingang to Jebel Ali FCL quotation request Customer role: [importer / exporter / forwarding agent] Cargo and packaging: [description, packages, dimensions] Gross weight and units: [ ] Container type / quantity: [confirmed or needs review] Cargo-ready date / loading address: [ ] Incoterms and named place: [ ] Option A: [port-to-port scope and responsible destination agent] Option B, if needed: [exact UAE delivery address and unloading needs] Required origin services: [ ] Please identify routing, validity, included / excluded charges and next confirmation steps.
5. Reconcile the reply before asking for a booking
Check that every party is quoting Jebel Ali, the same equipment, date and service boundary. Ask about omitted information instead of guessing. If readiness changes, send the original and revised date to the booking contact and ask which quotation and booking conditions need reconfirmation.
You can begin with incomplete optional details; a useful first enquiry still needs a destination, cargo and a contact method. Later document instructions should use the agreed shipment details and be reviewed by the responsible parties before submission.
Reference and scope
This is an original quotation-preparation guide, not a shipment case or a UAE import-clearance checklist. DP World’s Jebel Ali Port information ↗ identifies port operations and destination context; it does not set our quotation, confirm a sailing or establish any affiliation. The source page has no stated publication date; checked 21 October 2026. Shipment and destination conditions must be confirmed with the relevant provider.
Discuss your actual shipment
Start with your cargo, destination and contact details. Unknown optional information can follow. A saved enquiry receives a reference; it does not confirm a rate, equipment or booking.
